We are looking for:

Byron Shire Council is currently seeking to fill 2x new Finance roles: Finance Officer (Accounts Support & Rates) and Revenue Officer (Debt Management). 

 

The Finance Officer (Accounts Support & Rates) role is a great opportunity to complete an extensive range of accounting support tasks within Council’s Finance team including assistance with Council’s rates and charges revenue administrative functions and provide high level customer service to internal and external customers.

 

The Revenue Officer (Debt Management) role is a great opportunity to provide a high level of customer service while undertaking Council’s revenue debt recovery function of amounts owing to Council for rates and charges, in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993 and Council Policies and procedures 

About you: Finance (Accounts & Rates) role: 

  • TAFE qualifications in Accounting, Business, Administration or another relevant field or equivalent demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Experience reconciling all types of accounts.
  • Accurate data entry skills - particularly numerical
  • Sound organisational skills and ability to plan and prioritise multiple tasks while consistently meeting agreed timeframes.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service and deliver quality service outcomes as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

About you: Revenue Officer (Debt Management) role: 

  • TAFE qualifications in Accounting, Business, Administration or another relevant field or equivalent demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience with debt recovery and relevant finance functions in a similar role.
  • Sound understanding of financial principles, including debt management, revenue collection, and accounting practices.
  • Sound organisational skills and ability to plan and prioritise multiple tasks while consistently meeting agreed timeframes.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service and deliver quality service outcomes as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

We offer: 

  • 2x permanent full- time positions (35 hours per week)

  • Salary and Conditions will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award with an appointment at a salary in the range of $1,155.40 to $1,338.70 per 35 hour week (dependent upon skills and experience)

Location:

This position is based at Mullumbimby however Council can require you to work from other work sites as required for operational reasons.
